It brings me so much joy to be a part of the Client Services team here at Mosaic! I first joined Mosaic’s front-line staff as a Lifestyle Companion in 2020, and found myself in awe of their person-centred approach to care, and their commitment to community outreach and involvement. I admired the attention to detail that went into each and every unique client’s care. These assets are what truly sets Mosaic apart in the industry.
My background is in Linguistics and Semiotics. I love language history, words, communication techniques, and sign/other non-verbal language. For the last near-decade, however, I have shifted my focus more toward end-of-life care. I am passionate about fostering ways for the final chapters of life to be comfortable, dignified, and fulfilling. I have a Certificate in Palliative Care, I’m a Death Doula, a Hospice Volunteer, and an advocate for death education and dying with dignity movements. I have hosted Death Cafés and Death Walks and continue to initiate — and encourage —conversations on how we can improve the later chapters of our lives.
I regularly take courses to build on my knowledge, including, most recently, Palliative Care in Dementia through the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto. It is important to me to continue to build upon my existing bank of knowledge, and I am a true believer that there is always more to learn!
